Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival
If your student arrives in a vehicle, when you pull up in the arrival line to drop students off, please have your child exit the vehicle closest to the curb. If your child needs support exiting the car, a staff member will open the door for them. Parents must stay in their vehicles at all times in the drop-off line. Please park if you need to get out of the car for any reason (please see map here: Arrival Map PNG.pdf). Remember that the bus loop is for buses only – do not pull in/park in the bus loop to drop off a student. Also, do not walk across the bus parking lot for any reason.
Dismissal
Your child will receive a student pick-up card the first day of school. You will need to have your student pick-up card every day that you will be picking up your child. Please make sure if there is someone else picking your child up that they have this card. A photo of the card will not be accepted. We will not allow any student to leave without this card. If you do not have a card, you will need to stop in the office at dismissal to show your identification. We will need permission from a legal guardian before we give out a new pick-up card. This card will be used for our car riders and parents who walk up to gather their children.
Dismissal Process
- Bus riders will dismiss from their classrooms out their designated grade-level door.
- Car riders will dismiss out their designated grade-level doors to the east side of the building at pick-up spots 5, 6, and 7. You will have to show your student pick-up card.
- Daycare buses will pick up students behind the building.
- Walkers and parents who walk up to pick up their children will dismiss from DOOR 5. Parents who are picking up their child will need to show the pick-up card. Walkers will be released to walk home.
A staff member will be located at each of these areas to make for a smooth transition! Please continue to use the crosswalks located within our two parking lots and at Retton Road. This allows for children and family members to cross in safe zones and to not move across moving traffic. If you need to cross the parking lots on the property during arrival and dismissal times, we are requiring you to use a crosswalk. We have updated the crosswalks by painting all of the crosswalks within the parking lot yellow. Remember that the bus loop is for buses only – do not park in the bus loop to pick a student up (or drop a student off). Also, do not cross the bus parking lot for any reason.
Please be aware that in our east parking lot (student pick-up) there will be two lanes divided by cones. One lane will be used for picking up students with the student pick-up card. The second lane will be used for normal traffic flow that will allow anyone to park in the parking lot and cross at the crosswalks.
Thank you for your patience as we make sure all our students are safe!
Car Riders
Cars will be asked to pull up to pick-up spots numbered 5, 6, and 7 only. We will then check for the pick-up card and students will be released to drivers with cards. We will have pick-up spots numbered 1, 2, and 3 open so that drivers who do not have a pick-up card may park along the curb and go into the office to get a replacement card by showing identification. Spot 4 will not be used for pick-ups (see attached map for reference: Dismissal Map PNG.pdf)
Walkers & Parent Pick-Up
We will have a specific area (which is outlined on the map) where parents will meet to pick up their children. You will need to show the student pick-up card at this time. This designated area will be located at DOOR 5 on the far west side of our building (by the bus loop). The doors are marked with numbers. Students will line up inside the hallway and will be released to you once the pick-up card is shown.

Annual Notice: Parents Bill of Rights
The Ohio legislature has enacted the Parents’ Bill of Rights that affirms your fundamental right as a parent or guardian to make decisions concerning the upbringing, education, and care of your child. The District has adopted Board Policy [5780.01/IGBLA/other], which describes the specific rights you have as a parent or guardian and requires the District to notify you regarding these rights and to ask you to choose whether the District can provide certain health care services to your child. The District offers the following physical, mental, and behavioral health care services to your child:
- School-based behavioral health services (by referral only): Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Buckeye Ranch, Integrated Services Behavioral Health, Southeast Healthcare, Inc. (Prevention services)
- School Social Workers, School Nurses, Health Aides
The District is authorized by law to employ health care service professionals and to provide certain services – among them, diabetes care, conducting hearing and vision tests, testing for tuberculosis (if required by the Board of Health), screening for newly enrolling kindergarten or first grade students, dyslexia screenings, medication administration, concussion assessments, seizure action planning, threat assessments, counseling to any victim of sexual harassment or sexually related conduct, counseling for habitually absent students, and any other services required by a student’s Individualized Education Plan or 504 Plan.
Other options are available for your child to receive physical, mental, and behavioral health services. You can see your primary health care provider. Programs, including a public health clinic, are also offered by Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The District has also compiled a list of counseling and behavioral health resources available on reyn.org under the Department of Diverse Learners & Whole Child Supports. The link can be found here.
To facilitate parental involvement and decision-making, you have the option to withhold consent or decline any service offered by the District. If you consent, it does not waive your right to access your child’s educational or health records or to be notified about a change in your child’s services or monitoring as required by law.
Note: This notice and consent does not apply to emergency situations, first aid, other unanticipated minor health care services, or health care services provided pursuant to a student’s IEP or 504 Plan. If you have questions about these exceptions, please contact the District office.
